Horse Lease Agreement
This Horse Lease Agreement ("Agreement") is made and entered into as of the date of submission by and between the undersigned ("Lessee") and the Riding Academy ("Lessor").
1. The Horse
Lessor agrees to lease to Lessee, and Lessee agrees to lease from Lessor, a specific horse designated by the Riding Academy instructors for the purpose of riding and general horsemanship on scheduled lease days.
2. Term
This lease shall commence on the date of agreement and continue on a month-to-month basis. This lease may be terminated by either party with thirty (30) days written notice.
3. Fees
Lessee agrees to pay the monthly lease fee as set by the Riding Academy. Payment is due on the first of each month. Late payments may incur a fee.
4. Care and Maintenance
Lessor shall be responsible for all costs and responsibilities associated with the care of the horse, including but not limited to feed, farrier, and veterinary care. Lessee is responsible for proper grooming before and after each ride and ensuring all tack is cleaned and returned to its proper place.
5. Assumption of Risk
Lessee acknowledges that engaging in equestrian activities is an inherently dangerous activity and that there is a risk of serious injury or death. Lessee assumes all risks and waives any claims against the Lessor for any injuries or damages that may occur.
6. HCBC Membership
Lessee must maintain a current Horse Council of British Columbia (HCBC) membership for the duration of this lease. The HCBC number must be provided below.
